I converted this bike for a friend. He no longer wants it so I am selling it at cost.

The bike is a 58cm Raleigh Record 82-84' ish. Suggested height for this bike is 5'9" to 6'2"

Bike is in good condition. Paint and decals are worn. New tires, chain, rear break pads and aluminum wheels (total $110.00 value). Headset has been regreased and repacked. The BB has not been cleaned but I can do that for an extra $20 if you like. The rear wheel can be converted to a fixed gear. I can either tell you how or do it for an additional $30. It rides smooth, ready to go.

Throw on a Brooks saddle and powder coat the frame this bike could run with the big boys.

Im asking 150 but also accepting offers. I haven't given this bike a good overall cleaning. I plan to today. If for some reason I don't I will knock off 5 bucks.

I worked at a bike shop for 4 years while I was going to school at A&M, so I know how to keep a bike up and running well.
The bike has always been very well maintained. It has less than 300 miles on it.
I thought I would have tons of time to ride after I graduated so I thought I'd invest in a nice bike... It turns out I have very little time to ride and this poor thing mostly just sits around... It needs a good home!
A 58cm frame is good for most people between 5'10" to about 6'2" depending on your body type. I will be honest and size you and let you know if the bike is too big or too small if/when you stop by.

Also included but not pictured are the stock cyclocross tires. The saddle bag has an extra tube, CO2 pump and cartridge, and tire lever.
I've also got a couple of extra tubes to throw in.

The bar tape on the right side is coming off a little bit, so if you want it replaced afterwards, I'll wrap your bars for you.
I just threw some cheap platform pedals on there, but I'll throw in my old eggbeater pedals if you want em for no additional cost.

This bike will need a rear wheel and sprocket. Everthing else works just fine.

A couple of years ago, I got a wild hair to put a small motor on it when gas went over $4/gallon. I installed the kit on the bicycle and the price of gas went back down. Since I have motorcycles already, I didn't motor it except around the block a few times to show off. It was mainly as a last resort if gas got too expensive for my motorcycles. I finally got tired of looking at it in my living room and I sold the motor and the rear wheel as a complete set. I'd put a new bicycle wheel on it and ride it myself, but I am trying to sell some things to make it easier when I move this spring after graduation.

The bike is in good shape. It was made when all Cannondales were made in the USA. It is a much better deal than some of the foreign junk on the market today. With a new back wheel, it should serve you well for many more years.

TWO VINTAGE BIKES FOR SALE; READY TO RIDE (Bryan, TX) $650

I have two vintage road bikes that I worked over earlier this year. One is a green Schwinn Varsity from 1974 or earlier, and the other is a tan Montgomery Ward with decals and emblems stating that it is the "Official Bicycle of the 1976 Olympic Games." I installed new wheels (switched to current 700c size from old 27" wheels), wheel wraps, tubes, tires, brake pads, cables, rear derailleurs (Shimano Tourney), and handlebar wraps on both bikes, and the Schwinn got a new seat (I still have the original) while the Montgomery Ward got handlebars, stem, and crank from a donor bike and new shifters (I still have the original crank). I also disassembled and cleaned up all the mechanical workings and packed the bearings with special bicycle grease. I didn't do a full restoration on the bikes, but left as much as possible in original condition while making them rideable. We haven't used the bikes as we thought we would (we've only been on them three or four times), so I'm looking to send them on to somebody that will. I'm asking $650 for the two of them, but would also consider selling them separately if you only need one. Never had a single problem with the components. Gears shift smoothly every time. Excellent control for a hardtail and uphill riding is a breeze. Strong yet a reasonably lightweight frame. Cheap. Pearl iZumi Quest Mountain Bike Shoes - Women's Size EU/40 - US/9 (League City) $40

Worn only 3 dozen times and still in great condition are a pair Pearl iZumi Quest Mountain Bike Shoes. They do have signs of normal wear and tear, but I've kept them clean and well-maintained. The cleats have not been replaced since 2003. They still work fine and have never failed me, but they have lots of wear on them -- I'm glad to throw them in, just 'cause. :)

The picture is of a brand new pair; not the ones being sold. I didn't have a picture of them handy.
