Tom Richards-Voodoo Massacre #3 - $10 (Bryan)

Voodoo is big in New Orleans. There are several different sects in the area. Most are peaceful and law abiding, but there’s one group that has turned evil. This group is headed by a woman who calls herself Marinette-Bois Sech. She moved away from animal sacrificing, and turned to human sacrificing. For the past year, young virgin girls have been disappearing. The police have not been able to stop the killing and mutilation of these girls.
Tom heard about this case from his best friend, Mack Broussard, Chief of the NOPD. During his investigation into the case, he discovered that this sect has a large loyal following. There will be no way around it; this case is going to be a blood bath. Tom’s life expectancy is questionable. "So be it."

Justice Served, the first in a series of novels by Dennis Brown, finds the hero, Detective Tom Richards, retiring from the NOPD, buying a long established cop bar in the French Quarter and embarking on a secret life of crime investigation and remediation. Tom has the appearance of an ordinary citizen but he is much more than meets the eye. He has grown weary of perpetrators being on the streets after an arrest before all the paperwork is done. With secret help from friends in the NOPD and a nearby FBI office Tom uses his apartment, over his bar, as headquarters for his investigation. Justice Served is an interesting read for the detective novel fan which is sprinkled with accurate geographic and architectural references of the New Orleans area.

I love this book! I enjoy reading at night to relax, but most books put me to sleep after about 8 pages....lol. This book was hard to put down and I had no problems staying wide awake. I couldn't wait to see how Tom was going to stop the low life criminal who tortured these poor girls. I wanted to jump in the book and shoot him myself. I loved seeing the relationship grow between Abby and Tom and I can't wait for the next book to come out and see where it leads.

5.0 out of 5 stars #1 Tom Richards Justice Served

Wow, what a good book. It also left me wanting' to find out about the girl he just met. Also, he is a real man about all he does. A real gentleman, super important nowadays. Reminds me of John Wayne or Paladin on "Have Gun Will Travel". A real joy to read.
