We are looking for an exceptional HHA or CNA to support our mom who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia w/ some personal care and medical needs. We are searching for a dedicated, compassionate, and energetic individual with excellent communication skills who is grounded in the Christian faith. Reliability, patience, and a positive attitude are essential. Having a sense of humor and a value for learning and curiosity will make you a good candidate. We are looking to for someone who is available 11:00 – 4:45 pm M-F to begin with.
• 3 years’ experience as a HHA or CNA
• Responsibilities:
o Helping our mom meet her nutritional and hydration needs,
o Assisting with her to taking medications and nutritional supplements
o Preparing meals for lunch and sometimes breakfast
o Walking outside for a minimum of 30 minutes, when weather allows and indoors when it does not.
o Providing basic emotional or psychological support
o Assisting with daily activities of living such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
o Assisting with physical exercises
o Assisting her with organizing her schedule and plan activities that keep her engaged and active.
• Transportation:
o Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
o Take her to area parks or events.
o Accompany her to the doctor’s offices or other appointments when needed.
o Grocery shopping if/when needed
• Records:
o Maintaining accurate records of home visits, including travel time, time with patient, and services performed.
o Noting observations of patient behavior, including complaints, or physical symptoms and alerting family when notable changes occur
o Taking and recording blood pressure each visit
• Certifications/Licenses
o Current CPR/ First Aid certification
o Completion of a state approved HHA or CNA certification training course
o Last year nursing students may be considered; will need to provide clinical hours and experience with geriatric community and can assist with ADLs, Vitals, and recording behavior changes
o Completion of Basic Life Skills (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or other state or nationally recognized organization

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: commensurate with experience

• Some holidays
• 20-30 hours/week but may vary depending on schedule
• Monday to Friday
• Flexible scheduling (morning, afternoon)
