Available 2.5 year old male, neutered LGD. Works well with other dogs but is able to handle himself alone if predator load isn't too heavy (no LGD should be expected to handle more than 1 or 2 coyotes solo). Around 100lbs. Short coat that blows out well. Never has needed any grooming. Mix of Anatolian, Sarplaninac and Great Pyrenees or possibly Akbash. Breed never meant much to me, I want them to do their job.
Has been raised around goats but I have not been running him with them for the last year. For the last year he has been with cows, and though he does not love the cows, he still keep predators off them. Most recently he has been in with ducks and chickens and doing very well. Alerts to both arial and ground predators and kills or chases as required.
Has a mild temperament and very much considers himself beta to humans. You will not have a difficult time with him, he does not test humans authority. He is also very eager to please for example, the introduction to the poultry was extremely easy. A couple "leave it" commands and we were all good. He is what I would consider to be a good beginner's LGD. Not test your authority, able to do his job and able to take commands.
Why am I selling such a good LGD? I like to work with LGDs and get them to a good point to take them to new herds. I'm also have 6 other LGDs and do not need that many. Of who I have, this guy is pretty much done and able to be successful in a new home. Just needs to be incorporated with his permeant job.
